About Us & the Annapolis Area
 

     Kingsport is a neo-traditional community that offers coastal living in the port city of Annapolis, Maryland. Enjoy all the Maryland state capital has to offer in a great location in Anne Arundel County close to both Baltimore and Washington, DC. Walk or bike practically downtown and throughout the community. Amenities include a community pool with terrace, spa pool, and grilling area; fishing dock; putting green and playground areas; walking and biking trails; and nearby dining, shopping, and recreation in historic Annapolis.

City of Annapolis Website has a list of citizen services (trash pickup, recycling, etc.), upcoming events, recent announcements, a listing of city departments, and facts about Annapolis. Kingsport is located in Ward 4 and is represented by Alderwoman Sheila Finlayson. Please contact her if you have questions or concerns related to our community and Ward 4. 

Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Visitor Information has everything a new resident or visitor needs to know about the area.

Annapolis Business Association  is a non-profit consortium of businesses and individuals with the shared interest of maintaining and improving the business environment in the city. It includes a directory of 140 businesses in and around Annapolis including a guide to area shopping and dining.

Grow Annapolis is a community gardening organization.  Their web site is www.growannapolis.org.

Area Newspapers

Hometown Annapolis, the website of The Capital newspaper, offers local news and information on events, entertainment, sports, movie listings, restaurants, etc.

Baltimore Sun,  the Sunday edition has a section for Anne Arundel County. 

Washington Post, the Thursday edition includes a section for Annapolis and Anne Arundel County news.

Area Schools and Colleges

Schools K-12 site offers a listing of the public and private schools in Annapolis, Anne Arundel County, and the surrounding area. 

Anne Arundel Community College (AACC), established in 1961 and is a fully accredited public, two-year institution offering credit programs leading to an associate degree or transfer to a four-year institution. AACC offers extensive noncredit and continuing education courses to boost basic skills or to pursue new areas of interest.

St. John's College, founded in 1696 as King William’s School, is located downtown in the Historic District. It offers a traditional liberal arts curriculum based a course of study with the “great books” as the basis for discussion classes. 

The United States Naval Academy (USNA), founded in 1845 by George Bancroft, then Secretary of the Navy, offers young men and women the up-to-date academic and professional training needed to be effective naval and marine officers in their assignments after graduation.
